With quarantine I definitely been spending more time makeup free than ever before. And while I do miss occasionally beating my face for the gods, I have been spending more time focusing on my skincare and finding products that I believe others should be making an effort to keep in their stash.
Now skincare does not have to be expensive as some may have you believe. I’m fact skincare just comes down to finding which products work for you and sticking to a routine. The products here I have tried and recommend especially for my dry skin girlies since I know recommendation could be far and few in between for us.
CLEANSERS
1) La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser

Possibly one of the best drugstore cleansers I have tried. It efficiently cleanses all the dirt and makeup off my skin without drying it out. I found this during the winter when my skin started flaking up and it immediately gave enough moisture back into my skin. It has that creamy consistency notorious for being good for those with dry skin.
2) Neutrogena HydroBoost Hydrating Cleansing Gel

Now if you are more into gel cleansers this is another great option that won’t dry your skin out. In fact, it’s made with hyaluronic acid which has been a popular skincare ingredient as of late. If you love a good foaming cleanser like me, this has to be one of the best options out there due to its hydrating properties.
TONERS
3) Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner
On days that my skin is feeling extra dry, especially in the winter I reach for a more hydrating toner such as this. Rosewater has numerous benefits for the skin including balancing the PH level and controlling oil production as well. Plus the sent is so refreshing that I don’t mind spritzing this on my face throughout the day even.
4) Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner

Those a bit more on the pricey side this toner is so unbelievably moisturizing that I had to mention it. This also contains hyaluronic acid which adds to its moisturizing properties. My only qualm about it is that the bottle design is not the best. But if your looking for a deeply moisturizing toner, look no further.
MOISTURIZERS
5) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +
Now this is definitely an oldie but a goodie. If you were there during the early YouTube phase you would know that this product made its way around the beauty community. But I recently revisited it and remembered why we loved it so much. During the winter this immediately cleared up some of my dry patches and left my face moisturized without feeling too heavy. It’s definitely one of Clinique’s best products.
6) Ponds Dry Skin Cream
Another oldie but a goodie that I recommend for dry skin which is on the more affordable side is this ponds cream. If you are looking for a thicker moisturizer that’s gonna give you that hydrated look, look no further. A little of this does go a long way so definitely be careful when applying because too much will have you looking a bit greasy. But it will also have your face feeling soft and smooth over time, even in the winter months.
SUNSCREENS
7) Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen
Props to Neutrogena for giving the dry skin girlies what they needed which was a sunscreen that’s gonna give us the hydration we need. Hydrating enough to even use on its own, this has definitely made its way to my top products of 2020 list. Its claims are true as it does not leave me with a greasy feeling on my face nor a white caste on my skin. It works perfectly under makeup and is just an all around a great sunscreen.
8) CANMAKE Mermaid Skin Gel

One of the few Asian sunscreens that doesn’t leave a horrendous white cast, it is not filled with fragrance or alcohol. In fact it is surprising how this lightweight formula can be so hydrating as well, without leaving your skin feeling tacky and working well under makeup. The only downside is that it does come in a very small packaging, meaning that you would probably have to repurchase fairly often. However I can assure you that this highly raved about product is worth it.
